That compression from a 28/1 outlier run back to a heavily supported favourite suggests the market now fully understands what this horse is capable of. Carrying 9-6 after a 3lb drop from the last run, with a going flag that at least rates neutral on Good to Firm and form that includes a win and a close second in the most recent six runs, Crest Of Fire is the horse the race is set up for. El Matador and Spell Master both carry the profile of horses who have been placed from prominent positions in recent starts, and both are weighted to try to hold a forward berth. Point Of Contact has shown a tendency to race close to the pace under Oisin Murphy. Three horses pressing for the lead on Good to Firm ground over a stiff nine furlongs suits closers with a turn of foot — and Crest Of Fire, who has shown the ability to sit midfield and pick up, is set up perfectly by that shape.
