Mr Fox says
Pure Concept (SR 158, 1/4) sits in a class of its own in this field — the next-best SR is Beryozka at 149, a 9-point gap, and the remainder cluster between 122-137. Carrying 9-4 against a field of maidens and moderate novice performers, dropping a class (ClassMv:↓1) into a Band B/C/D restricted contest, this horse already has a course placing (W0P1 at Kempton) which matters on the AW. Richard Hannon (12%, 2853 runners) booking Sean Levey (13%, 1751 runners) — a stable jockey combination — signals this is a serious yard sending a horse in to win. The only caveat is a single run showing a second-place finish, but the SR premium is decisive and the class drop makes this a near-banker. Each-way alternative: Beryozka. Main danger: Beryozka — Beryozka (SR 149, 9/2) is an Andrew Balding debutant — his yard strikes at 18% which is the strongest trainer stat in the field — and while drifting 12% tempers enthusiasm, a well-bred unexposed animal from a top stable on debut could outrun an SR projection based on limited evidence.
