Mr Fox says

Pink Venom (SR 87, 13/8) is the clear class standout in this field, carrying the highest SR by a meaningful margin over Howlin Wolf (SR 86) on a featherweight 9-9. The form string 7331 reads as a progressive improver culminating in a last-time-out win, and critically both DistFit:+ and GoingFit:+ confirm proven effectiveness at today's 6f trip on good ground — the two most relevant conditions today. JP Murtagh (11% strike rate, 1,328 runners) and Ben Coen (11%, 1,831 runners) represent the sharpest connections in the race, and the 13/8 market price reflects justified confidence despite a +9 mark rise — that penalty is manageable on 9-9 with the SR to absorb it. Each-way alternative: Howlin Wolf. Main danger: Howlin Wolf — Howlin Wolf (SR 86) has a consistent recent form string of 774122 showing a clear upward trajectory, and while drifting 8% in the market and carrying MarkMv:+9, the blinkers applied today (HG:b) could sharpen a horse who has placed twice in its last three starts — if the headgear sparks improvement at 9/2 it is the only realistic threat to Pink Venom.
