Glen Kiln
MEDIUM Advised 2/5 Est. 52%
Mr Fox says
Glen Kiln (SR 148, 2/5) is in a different class to every rival — the next-best SR in the field is Manoir De Mirande at 118, a 30-point gulf that is enormous on the 0-200 scale. While the form string U2186- includes some mixed figures, the U (unseated) is a non-finish and the 8 and 6 placings are contextually less alarming in a horse of this calibre stepping down to a beginners' chase. Brian Hayes (10%, 779 runners) is a competent booking, and at 2/5 the market is simply pricing in the SR dominance. Manoir De Mirande (7/2) is the only credible threat and is named as the danger — Elliott/Kennedy with DistFit:+ and GoingFit:+ on a 4-year-old showing 1-1-2-3 in recent starts is a properly progressive young horse, but SR 118 versus SR 148 is a gap that makes Glen Kiln the overwhelming selection. Each-way alternative: Manoir De Mirande. Main danger: Manoir De Mirande — Gordon Elliott's 4-year-old carries the lightest weight (11-3), boasts both DistFit:+ and GoingFit:+ on today's conditions, and Jack Kennedy (23% career strike rate) is the sharpest jockey booking in the field — if Glen Kiln makes an error at the fence, Manoir De Mirande has the profile to capitalise.
