Rhythm King
SPECULATIVE Advised 8/1 Est. 22%
Mr Fox says
Rhythm King (SR:58, 8/1, Wgt:9-8) is the most compelling case in this field of moderate ability. The 17% market move inward is the strongest steaming signal in the race and cannot be ignored — money is coming for a horse that has course form (W0P1 at Naas) and a GoingFit:~ on soft, giving it a meaningful edge over rivals who have no soft-ground evidence at all. At 9-8 it carries 12lb less than the three top-weights (Northern Ruler, Senna's Girl, Vlhova) and is fresh off just 7 days' rest suggesting a stable targeting this spot. Trainer Mark Fahey hits at 13%, the best strike rate of any yard represented, and the -16 mark drop from last win gives handicapper room to manoeuvre. Each-way alternative: Espritroyale. Main danger: Guy's Girl — Guy's Girl (SR:64, 3/1) is the joint-highest SR in the field and won last time out (form ending in 1) off 9-10, giving her a live chance despite drifting 19% — the visor (v) was worn at the last win so connections clearly have a formula, and if the market drift is simply a result of the apprentice booking rather than stable uncertainty, she could easily dominate at the top of the ability range.
