Three races. Three horses. One play.
Long-odds each-way treble, every day. This will lose most weeks. When it lands, it pays for the month.
See the Treble Book →Three big-priced place cases across a Saturday of top-level racing
Saturday's big Ascot card and Ayr's Listed fillies' race throw up three genuine outsiders where the place probability is higher than the price implies — if you squint at the data the right way. The engine has filtered 511 declared runners down to 60 qualifying long-shots, and this treble survived every cut: class band, field size, odds band, composite floor. Combined win odds of 20332/1 and combined place odds of 435.91/1 tell you exactly what this is — a lottery ticket with a researched edge, not a certainty. Joint place probability sits at 0.17%, so I'll be honest: most weeks this loses. The weeks it lands, it lands hard.
Leg 1
Stolen Kiss is the most data-light of the three, which I won't hide from you. No Ascot runs, no going data on good-to-firm, trainer below the noise threshold in recent form — a lot of the feature scores are simply unavailable. What the engine does have is a form string of '4-7111': three wins from the last three completed runs, and a decay-weighted place average of +0.75. At 33/1 in a field large enough for four places, the raw price relative to that hot recent form is the entire argument. Speculative, but the place terms do the heavy lifting.
Leg 2
Shes Got A Brother is the most form-credible leg of the three. A career place strike of 75% (3 from 4) is a real number, not a fluke sample, and the form string '1143' shows she competes at the sharp end. The class-rise flag (rank 3 to rank 2 today) is a genuine concern, and the Easterby yard's 23% place strike over the last 30 days is merely on par — no stable momentum to lean on. No course form at Ayr and no soft-going data are gaps, but at 25/1 each-way in a Listed fillies' race with four places on offer, the strike-rate history earns her spot here.
Leg 3
Santorini Star is the banker of the three, if you can call a 22/1 shot a banker. Five from five in the latest runs placed, a career place strike of 71% (5 from 7), and William Haggas running at a 43% place strike over the last 30 days — that trainer stat is genuinely hot. She's held in the same class today as last time out, no step up or down, and has form on good-to-firm going (3 placed from 5 runs on that surface). The composite of 8.20 is the strongest individual signal in the treble. No Ascot course form is the only meaningful gap.
What worries me
The weak leg is Stolen Kiss: almost every feature beyond raw recent form returns unavailable, which means the composite score of 8.76 is heavily driven by a short winning streak with no context behind it. A Group 1 at Ascot with no course, going, or class data is a big ask. Shes Got A Brother rising in class into a Listed race on going she's never encountered is a real double-unknown. The joint place probability of 0.17% is not dressed up — this treble fails the vast majority of the time it is struck.
The verdict
Combined win odds 20332/1, combined place odds 435.91/1, conviction band SPECULATIVE. I'm having a punt at 1pt each-way (2pt total stake) — no more, no less.
